On looking back at the first half of the season in regards to the tight end room: "As we went to the bye week, we've looked forward to getting better, looking at things that we've missed on and looking at things that we've done well. And how we can continue to do well and how we can continue to get better. Right now, what we can control as a team is winning the day and just attacking each day and getting better, attacking our weaknesses to become stronger. As a whole, focus on the goal and motivation of today."

On the difference between offensive coordinator Garrett Riley's offense versus Brandon Streeter's: "If you're trying to compare the two offenses, it's completely different. Coach Riley is coming with an air raid-type system. The system before was a little bit more of a pro-style. I will say the offense that we're in right now, we've done a great job as far as with the tight end position knowing what we're supposed to do. We've been challenged to learn more positions, not just our signature tight end position, but learn to split out and be in the slot or the single wide receiver. We've learned to handle that and get better in that position and aspect."

On tight end Jake Briningstool, who leads the tight ends in receptions (18), yards (125), and touchdowns (1): "We all know Jake is a unique specimen. He's got great length, speed, can catch, [and] run routes. We've been able to grow and learn together, help each other, and benefit from one another. Sometimes, you forget that you're competing for the spot together because there's just so much love, care, and a passion for one another that you put that aside. You really just want to see each other succeed. So, anyway that I can help him, that he can help me, that's what we try to do."

On playing at Miami for the first time: "I'm pretty excited. I don't really know a lot of guys at Miami. I grew up about nine hours from there. A lot of bad blood --  not necessarily against the Miami team -- but some people back home were Miami fans and were always talking about the "U" is back. So, now, to be here at Clemson and be a part of it. I played against them in 2020, and we played them last year. This is my first time going down to Miami, so I'm pretty excited about that. It'll be unique."

On where he's seen quarterback Cade Klubnik grow from last year until now: "I think Cade has done a better job with maturity. He's gotten better, holistically, and stepped into that role. I actually sat back and challenged him. I pulled him to the side and told him, 'Let's work on this.' I've seen him get better at those attributes, and I think he's really helped the team and every week, I've seen him get better as far as maturing, whether it's in his preparation, whether it's body language, whether it's how he responds."
