On his relationship with offensive coordinator Garrett Riley: "I think off the field we've connected since he got here. I would say we're very similar people in terms of our culture and the things, we talk about -- whether it's up in Texas or music and movies. We get along very well and [he's] easy to talk to, easy to talk about ball with doesn't feel like there's ever a forced conversation or anything. It's also just easy to walk into his office and talk about life. [He's] somebody who's a really good person to talk to."

On whether he was surprised by the play of the offensive line on Saturday: "I wouldn't really say surprised, but just excited. Excited to see them truly go out and almost play pissed off in a way, not that they're playing pissed off but kind of grumpiness, an offensive linemen type thing. So, I was excited to see that."

On what was said before the drive after the interception: "We talked about a lot of things but the biggest thing that we talked about is the way we played last week versus NC State when we were down 20 something, the mentality and the way that we played that second half. I wanted to play with that mentality the entire day versus Notre Dame -- freaking go get it. So when we did have that turnover? It's a place we've been before unfortunately this year, but we learned from it and we've done a really good job of coming back from those situations. Just kind of a fluke tip ball. That's the story of this year. But to come right back that's what this team is made of."

On having the maturity to handle adversity in the game: "I think it's just something really good for our football team as well. We still got a lot of young players on the team. So that's something presented in this game but also in the years to come. You know when crap happens, we respond and we got to do that. I would say the biggest difference is we didn't press we just relaxed and said, 'All right, they have not been able to stop us all day. Let's just keep doing what we're doing.' We didn't flinch and just went back out."

On if the object moving forward is to conserve the mentality from Saturday: "I think that in a way you have to look back on that and say, how can we replicate that? But that's how we should play every game. That's the mentality we should have every game and we finally got to see it as players. We know what it feels like now. Not sure why it took us so long. But sometimes you gotta go through stuff to be able to see it. You can't replicate games. So, [I'm] really proud of the way they've played. I've got full confidence that they're gonna be able to do the exact same thing this week."
