Freshman cornerback, Shelton Lewis, came up big in Clemson’s win against Georgia Tech on Saturday in Death Valley. The 5-11 freshman from Stockbridge, Georgia, has five solo tackles and six passes defended on the season.
The Clemson defense held the Georgia Tech offense to only 254 yards and quarterback Haynes King was picked off four times. One of those four interceptions was picked off and returned 46 yards for a touchdown by Lewis.

Lewis commented on the Yellow Jackets offense in his post game interview.
“We just knew we had to stay on top of routes. And with our defensive line, he did not know where to go with the ball… We just made sure we stayed on our P’s and Q’s and just played within the system.”
The Tigers’ 41-21 victory over the Yellow Jackets put the Tigers at 6-4 on the season. This week, Clemson takes on a two-loss North Carolina team on Senior Day. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 PM on ESPN.
