While Trevor Lawrence was tremendous on Saturday, throwing for 404 yards on 24-33 attempts. The junior accounted for five TDs passing in the contest.

As for two of Clemson’s backup quarterbacks, D.J. Uiagalelei and Taisun Phommachanh, both are a bit banged up as No. 1 Clemson turns their attention towards Syracuse.

Uiagalelei, who had been Trevor Lawrence’s backup had some stiffness in his shoulder this past week and the staff decided to let him sit this week at Georgia Tech.

"We played everybody. The only guy that didn’t play was DJ Uiagalelei. He was available but we were going to try to not play him because he was still a little sore,” Swinney said. “We didn’t want to play him unless we just had to."

Swinney said that he wouldn’t get into the specifics about Uiagalelei’s injury, noting that he “got beat up a little bit in the game last week.”

As for Phommachanh, who was the first off the bench today, the redshirt freshman broke a bone in his hand during the 73-7 win over Georgia Tech.

"He has a little break. I think if he was any other position he would be able to play but I don’t know as a quarterback what type of casting he would have on.”

Swinney said that there could be concerns with gripping the ball. Phommachanh finished the game 2-6 for nine yards before yielding to walk-on Hunter Helms. Helms led Clemson on a few scoring drives, finishing the day 5-7 for 74 yards with 2 TDs.
