Another McCloud will wear a Clemson football uniform. On Wednesday night, three-star linebacker Kobe McCloud‍ (Gaither High, FL), brother of Pittsburgh Steeler and former Clemson receiver/returner Ray-Ray McCloud (2015-17), announced his verbal commitment to the Tigers over Power Five offers from BC, Indiana, Iowa State, Maryland, Miami, Pittsburgh, and Syracuse.

"God always going to show the way....Watch how he work this one!!!  I'M ALL IN 1000%," McCloud tweeted.

The recruitment of McCloud, originally a Florida International pledge, escalated quickly from the Jan. 9 offer to this past weekend's official visit. The Tampa native is now expected to sign on Wednesday, Feb. 2.

McCloud, who stands 6'1 and weighs 210 pounds, made 70 tackles, 12 for loss, and picked off three passes in 2021, according to Maxpreps. He spent some time at quarterback as well rushing for 158 yards on 25 carries.

McCloud is the second commit to the 2022 class from this past weekend. Three-star safety Kylon Griffin‍ committed on Tuesday. He is also the second linebacker in the class joining fellow three-star Sunshine State native Wade Woodaz‍.
