On having confidence in the offense:
“I think we were definitely heading in the right direction as an offense from a confidence standpoint and a performance standpoint as well. We have a really good relationship with Coach Richardson and Streeter and Coach Austin...there is really good communication between the coaches and the players. I think we are definitely heading in the right direction just from all the work we put in this offseason from a passing game standpoint.”
On developing his ability to catch:
“Going into my freshman year here, I knew I needed to be able to catch the ball. Every offseason, my thought process is that I have to get better in every area. There is always room for improvement, whether it be blocking or catching or watching film.”
On last year's NC State game:
“We went there last year and didn’t get the job done, and you don’t want to do that again. That will definitely be in the back of my head. There are new challenges, so we really need to focus on what we need to clean up and put our best foot forward on Saturday.”
On the physicality of the NC State defense:
“We’ve got to have really good technique this week. They have a really good defense and are extremely talented and well-coached. We have to be on our p’s and q’s when it comes to the run and pass game. This comes with stressing good technique this week in practice. We have to be on top of our game because they will push you around if you let them.”
On Clemson’s rivalry with NC State:
“It’s always been a big rivalry. Especially since we lost last year, we want to perform our best and put our best foot forward. It’s the biggest game of the year, but we have to treat it like any other game. I think that has to be the mindset going into this week.”
