On what kind of prep work he does with an open date:

“I think you get a lot of time to prepare for an opponent, and that’s the biggest thing. A lot of time during the bye week, you work on a lot of stuff you feel like you need to improve on during the season, and what we’ve seen from the first eight games. We get bodies healthy and people healthy, and I think that’s another big thing for the bye week.”

On getting past the Syracuse game:

“Sunday, you go back and watch the game and worry about the game then. After that, you just go on and move on to the next game and worry about the present time. You put your best foot forward each and every day.”

On knowing what went wrong for him in the Syracuse game:

“I feel like I figured out what I did wrong. There’s stuff I can work on and be able to improve that and make sure it doesn’t happen again. I feel like I’ve definitely moved on from that. I’m just excited about playing against Notre Dame.”

On how this game will be different from last time:

“I’m excited, man. Notre Dame is a great place to play. Probably one of the richest histories of college football. I think it’s an amazing place with an amazing program. They’ve done an amazing job this year and years in the past. It’s gonna be an exciting time out there.”

On where he has improved most since the summer:

“I feel like I’ve definitely improved coming from the summer. I feel like I’ve improved on giving guys a chance with the football and being able to touch the ball every time I throw it. I feel like I’ve done a better job with running the ball and running with more passion, and getting more downhill and extra yards. I feel like I’ve done a better job leading."

On bouncing back in practice last week:

“I feel like I had a great week of practice and feel like I attacked it the normal way as I do. Last week’s practices were good, and I just want to be able to carry that into this week and get better each and every week.”
