Clemson Lacrosse to play Winthrop in first away game

CLEMSON S.C. - For the first time in program history, the Clemson Tigers (2-0) are hitting the road. On Saturday, Feb. 18, Clemson will travel to Rock Hill, S.C. to play Winthrop (1-0) at 12:00 p.m. on Eagle Field for its first away game. This game will not be available to stream but live stats will be available here.

Clemson looks to build off of their first two wins of the season, a 19-3 win over Furman and a 23-1 win over Wofford. Hanna Hilcoff leads the team in total points with 11 and in number of goals with nine. Ella Little has played a critical role in securing possession for Clemson, as she has led the team in draw controls in the first two games. Goalie’s Emily Lamparter and Krissy Kowalski kept their opponents scoreless in the first quarter and saved 100% of free position shots in both games.

Winthrop is coming off of their first game of the season where they defeated Kennesaw State 16-13 at home. The Eagle’s return 18 player’s from last year’s 4-14 team, including their four captains, Alyssa Angelo, Molly Dankowski, Jenna Diebert, and Grayson McKenzie. Leading Winthrop is second year Head Coach Kara Concheck and first year Assistant Coach's Hannah Potter and Hailey Sanders.
