We heard from quarterback Cade Klubnik and wide receiver Blackmon Huckabee following Clemson’s dominant win over the Yellow Jackets. Watch the full videos or take in a few notes from what was discussed here!

Cade Klubnik

On the past couple of weeks: “We obviously feel great after back to back wins. But yeah, super proud of these guys. We haven’t lost faith one time and just continue to come to work every single day. Just super proud of this team. It’s been a wild year and I am just proud that they continue to fight every single week.”

On the touchdown passes: “I think coming into it, we knew we would have to take advantage of the red zone offense and throwing the ball. We did a great job. I loved our game plan going into it. We just executed more than anything and I was just super proud. Super proud of those receivers– they just made plays more than anything.”

On touchdown to Tyler Brown: “Yeah. We kinda had a little stutter slant. Tyler was really just kind of a decoy, but we just kinda had to make a play and then he did a great job on scramble drill– that wasn’t even his route. Just kind of made a play and kept rolling and went to the endzone and just gave him a chance to catch the ball.”

On the dominance on both sides of the ball: “I would say the most consistent we’ve been. I think we were dominant especially in the running game and in the passing game. But I feel like that was our best, full game of four quarters. I think we had an incredible first half last week and third quarter last week, but we didn’t quite finish the way we wanted in the fourth quarter. I mean obviously we still got the win, so that was good, but playing four quarters, I think that was really awesome.”

On singing the National Anthem: “It was just an honor to do it in that venue and to be able to pair the two things I love most, football and music, on that stage, for this team, in front of those fans I’m speechless. I don’t even know what to say. I was almost in tears. My mom was out there and tons of family. I’m glad we got the win today also, so I couldn;t have written it any better than that.”

On who asked him to sing the National Anthem: “My grandma kind of put it in my head. She said ‘I see you on the field with the full jersey and the helmet’ and I said ‘That’s kind of a good idea’. So I talked about it in fall camp to Jordan Sorrells and he went to Coach Swinney about it the next day and kind of made it happen. So yeah it’s been in the works for a while and I am glad it worked out as good as it did.”
