Clemson Falls to Pitt 1-0 In The First Round of The ACC Tournament

Four-seed Clemson men’s soccer fell to 13-seed Pitt 1-0 after a hard defensive fight from the Tigers. The Tigers move to 8-5-3 on the season, while the win moves the Panthers to 6-6-5. 

The Tigers out-shot the Panthers 20-5 on the night and earned nine corners while Pitt left the match with none. Clemson held possession of the ball for 56% of the match to the Panthers 44% possession time. 

The Clemson backline held off the Panthers advancing in the penalty box as Pitt only reached the penalty box or closer for 11% of the match. Abdou Mane led the way for Clemson's offense with four total shots in the match. Lukas Magnason, Ransford Gyan and Misei Yoshizawa all followed closely behind with three shots each to add to the Tigers' total of 20 for the match. 

In the 7' minute Pitt netted the only goal of the match to go up 1-0. The Tigers fought hard in the second half totaling 13 shots and seven corners but could not get a shot to fall in the net.
