Yesterday, we took a look at a few freshmen on the offense that we expect to get significant snaps in 2018. Today, we turn our attention to the defense and some of the young stars we think will get plenty of opportunities this fall.
5-star Clemson target (possibly) de-commits from SEC program
One of the top defenders in the 2019 class Nolan Smith announced via Twitter that he was de-committing from the Georgia Bulldogs this evening.https://twitter.com/SmithNoland2/status/980625909798572032 Smith, a 6'3 232-pound defensive end committed to Georgia on January 29, but according to his account he his back in the mix for schools like Clemson, unless it's just a late April Fool's prank.Smith who plays at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida has ties to the Tigers with former teammates Xavier Thomas and Mike Jones Jr. being on Clemson's roster. The three stay in contact and you have to wonder if he would like to pair up with his pals at the college level.There have been rumors that he plans to attend Clemson's spring game on April 14.We will update if it is indeed a prank. We've reached out to Nolan and are awaiting a response.
