Four-star linebacker Mike Jones Jr. has signed with the Tigers, and he'll join his teammate at IMG, five-star defensive end Xavier Thomas, in Tiger Town.
Jones, originally from Tennessee, committed to the Tigers back in June of 2016 and never wavered. In fact, he became one of the leading recruiters for the Tigers shortly after committing. He picked the Tigers over Tennessee, Florida, Texas A&M, NC State and North Carolina.
Jones is a tall, thick athlete who has the frame to develop into an outside linebacker, while still retaining his speed. He's sort of a tweener player right now, but within the Venables defense could see time at a number of positions. Jones has some work to do with his technique, but his versatility could allow him to get on the field early.
