Clemson lands linebacker out of Maryland ahead of the Early Signing Period

Clemson secured a significant victory on the football recruiting front with the commitment of C.J. Kubah-Taylor‍. The talented linebacker from Olney, MD, chose to join the ranks of the Tigers a day before the early signing period began.

We recently caught up with Kubah-Taylor, and the 6’3, 220-pounder possesses a unique blend of speed, strength, and agility that has caught the attention of Clemosn’s staff.

Kubah-Taylor said that “How fast and physical I am as well as my quick twitch,” were the reasons Clemson came after him.

“They’re very open and welcoming and really care about me and my family,” Kubah-Tylor noted. “Not just me as a player.”

Kubah-Taylor told ClemsonSportsTalk.com that Clemson’s portal use was a big reason he feels good about the program.

“Really just their tradition. As well as their loyalty,” Kubah-Taylor noted about Swinney’s philosophy. “They don’t really look to the portal, which helps out a lot.”

“They came to see me at school about two weeks ago. I didn’t really hear anything until the beginning of this week,” Kubah-Taylor noted. Signaling the Tigers' ability to get in late and bring in talented prospects.
