Clemson loses another defensive lineman to the transfer market
One week ago Clemson found out that Jabril Robinson was leaving the program. Today, the defensive line faces more attrition as Sterling Johnson announced that he is transferring from Clemson as well.
The redshirt junior defensive tackle from Clayton, North Carolina made his statement via Twitter just moments ago.
Johnson had nine tackles, three tackles for loss, two sacks and a quarterback pressure in 83 snaps over eight games last season. He had four tackles and a tackle for loss in 18 snaps against Kent State on Sept. 2nd and a sack at No. 14 Louisville on Sept. 16. Johnson also had a sack in five snaps against No. 7 Miami (Fla.) in the ACC Championship Game in Charlotte.
As for Clemson's defensive line, they take a hit losing Robinson and Johnson, but younger players will now have an opportunity to step in a little earlier than previously expected.
