After a long wait, we finally have a complete look at Clemson’s 2024 football schedule. The Tigers are hoping to make their way back to the CFB Playoffs for the first time since the shortened 2020 season. The road to making it back to the playoff is not going to be easy for Clemson by opening up the season in Atlanta against Georgia and a road trip to Tallahassee to face Florida State. We will be unpacking the Tigers’ schedule game-by-game over the next couple of weeks.

October 19th - vs. Virginia - Memorial Stadium, Clemson

2023 Record: 3-9

Last Game: 55-17 Loss to Virginia Tech

The Tigers return home to Death Valley to face a Virginia team with a former Clemson player and coach, Tony Elliott. Elliott was a wide receiver at Clemson from 1999-2003 and served as an assistant coach from 2011-2021.

The Tigers lead the all-time record against the Cavaliers 40-8-1 with the Tigers last victory coming in the 2020 season 41-23. Virginia’s last victory in Death Valley came in 2001 when the Cavaliers narrowly defeated the Tigers 26-21.

November 2nd - vs Louisville - Memorial Stadium, Clemson

2023 Record: 10-4

Last Game: Holiday Bowl, 42-28 Loss to USC

Clemson looks to stay undefeated against Louisville in Death Valley on November 2nd. Last season, the Cardinals competed in their first ACC Championship game since joining the conference in 2014. Louisville went toe-to-toe with Florida State, but ended up losing the game 16-6. In the Cardinal’s final game of the season, they traveled to San Diego to face Southern Cal, but came up short 42-28.

Clemson is 8-0 against Louisville all-time and intends to keep that streak going in 2024. The last meeting between the two teams came in the 2022 season, where the Tigers won 31-16.

November 9th - at Virginia Tech - Lane Stadium, Blacksburg

2023 Record: 7-6

Last Game: Military Bowl, 41-20 Win over Tulane

The Tigers make their first trip to Blacksburg since the shortened 2020 season. Dabo Swinney is 6-0 all-time against Virginia Tech and Clemson is 23-12-1 against the Hokies all-time. Since Lane Stadium opened, Clemson is 8-2 inside the facility and have won the last 3 meetings in Blacksburg.

Virginia Tech head coach Brent Pry, conducted multiple meetings with current players in December, to discuss their future success in Blacksburg. These meetings included conversations to determine whether or not current players would stay in the program or not. The Hokies have added multiple transfer players to their roster since these meetings.

We will continue with our series later in the week, taking a look at Games 10, 11, and 12 of the 2024 season.
