Four-star defensive end Bryce Davis has flipped his commitment from Clemson to Duke. The 6'4", 255-pound prospect from Greensboro, NC, made headlines when he initially committed to Clemson in July, but recent buzz suggested a potential change of heart, which was confirmed today.
Davis, regarded as one of the top-ten edge recruits in the nation, had been a key target for Clemson coach Chris Rumph, with his commitment seen as a major boost to the Tigers' 2025 class. Standing out for his exceptional first-step quickness and versatility across the defensive line, Davis' skills made him a coveted asset, not just for the Tigers but for any program.
His decision to flip to Duke is a significant win for the Blue Devils, who are looking to build momentum under first-year head coach Manny Diaz. Davis originally committed to Clemson over Duke, Georgia, and South Carolina.
For Clemson, the loss of Davis is a blow, especially considering the excitement around his potential pairing with fellow top EDGE recruit Ari Watford. Nevertheless, Clemson's 2025 recruiting class remains strong, ranked 14th nationally with 14 commits and a 90.79 rating, according to On3.
