Clemson Lands Four-Star DE Desmond Malpress, Continues Red-Hot 2027 Recruiting Run

Clemson’s recruiting momentum shows no signs of slowing down.

The Tigers added another major piece to their rapidly growing 2027 class on Monday when four-star edge rusher Desmond Malpress‍ announced his commitment to Clemson.

Malpress, who is rated as the No. 17 defensive end according to On3, becomes Clemson’s 16th verbal commitment in the 2027 cycle. Malpress’ commitment comes on the heels of fellow defensive end Santana Harvey‍ committing over the weekend. 

Malpress brings another explosive edge presence to Clemson’s future defensive front, giving defensive end coach Chris Rumph and the Tigers a highly regarded prospect with tremendous upside as the 2027 class continues to take shape.

With 16 commitments already in the fold and recruiting wins continuing to pile up across the Southeast, Clemson remains one of the hottest programs on the trail heading into the summer months.

** Update: Since publishing this article, the Tigers have landed three more commitments in four-star OL Luke Starcevic‍ and three-star tight end Nicholas Pollack‍, son of former Georgia standout David Pollack, and four-star OL JJ Brown‍.
