Dabo Swinney wrapped up his weekly press conference with the media earlier today. Here are a few notes from his time with the media.
Opening Statement: “I just want to give our thoughts and prayers to all the people that are still battling from this storm out there. A lot of people affected. It’s awesome to see so many people rallying together to help—volunteers and citizens—not to mention all the people in the power company and things like that that are working so hard to try to restore some order and some power and basic things to so many people.”
On playing on the road: "Excited to move into October. We had a good month here at home, and that's great for us, but you got to go take it on the road. I tell them all the time, good teams win at home, great teams win on the road. You got to be able to travel your plan to win and execute when they're not all cheering for you. So we certainly will have that opportunity this week. Florida State is always a really tough place to play. Their fans do a great job. There's always a ton of energy down there."
Swinney on FSU: "It doesn't matter what the records are. There are good players on both sides." Says FSU has "a ton" of players that will be playing on Sunday.
Swinney on not losing to a team with a losing record since 2010: "You trying to speak that into existence? That's a loaded question. Oh boy. Well, let's ask that after the game. Let's go win the game, then bring that one back up. We're a consistent program. We are not perfect."
Swinney on FSU's d-line: "All them guys up front are playing on Sunday—every single one of them. They are a great-looking football team when you turn on the tape."
