Six Tigers Named All-ACC; Gerbet, Gyan Earn “Of The Year” Honors
Clemson, S.C. – Six members of Clemson United have been named to the All-ACC team, it was announced on Wednesday by the conference office. Voting was conducted by the league’s head coaches. Senior midfielder Joran Gerbet was named the league’s Midfielder of the Year, while forward Ransford Gyan was tabbed as the ACC’s Freshman of the Year.
First Team All-ACC
Gerbet earned his second-consecutive All-ACC nod after picking up third-team honors in 2023. The Valence, France, native leads the Tigers in points (22) and assists (8) this season, with three assists coming in Clemson’s win over Syracuse. Gerbet is also the Tigers’ designated penalty kick taker, converting on four over the course of the season. Gerbet’s Midfielder of the Year honor is Clemson’s first since Paul Clowes in 2019 and just the second in program history.
Joining Gerbet on the First Team was Alex Meinhard, who earned his first-career All-ACC mention. Meinhard is second on the Tigers’ roster in points (21) and first in goals (10) on the year, with three of those goals coming against Syracuse. For his collegiate career, Meinhard is No. 3 in Div. 1 career goals amongst active players (46) and No. 2 in Div. 1 career points amongst active players (107).
Second Team All-ACC
Gyan added third team All-ACC honors to his Freshman of the Year selection, after recording three goals and five assists thus far in his freshman campaign. Gyan was also selected to the All-Freshman team and was named No. 5 on the Top Drawer Soccer Midseason Top 100 Freshman list. The Sunyani, Ghana, native, is Clemson’s first Freshman of the Year since Philip Mayaka in 2019 and fourth in program history.
All-Freshman Team
Joining Gyan on the All-Freshman team were Lukas Magnason and Wahabu Musah. Musah was named No. 83 on the Top Drawer Soccer Midseason Top 100 Freshman list, while Magnason was No. 28. Musah has four goals and two assists on the year, while Magnason has anchored the Tigers’ back line.
