Six-Game ACC Streak Snapped in Three Overtimes, 89-86 to Jackets

CLEMSON, S.C. – Clemson University men’s basketball played its third-ever three overtime game and lost to Georgia Tech, 89-86, on Tuesday night in Littlejohn Coliseum.

The Tigers (18-5, 10-2 ACC) were led by Chase Hunter (Atlanta, Ga./Westlake) and his 28 points, seven rebounds, four assists and five steals. He also totaled two blocks. Ian Schieffelin (Atlanta, Ga./Grayson) added a career-high-tying 23 points and eight rebounds in the effort.

Clemson led by three at the break and by as many as six late in the second half, but couldn’t close Georgia Tech. The Yellow Jackets garnered 56 rebounds, including 24 on the offensive glass. The Tigers were outscored 44-28 in the paint.

Clemson returns to the floor on Saturday, Feb. 8 when it hosts No. 2 Duke at 6 p.m. on ESPN.
