Clemson’s Elite Retreat has delivered another recruiting win. Four-star wide receiver Naeem Burroughs‍  (6’0, 175) out of The Bolles School in Jacksonville, Florida, has committed to the Tigers, adding another dynamic piece to Clemson’s future offense. Burroughs, who boasts a 92.22 On3 rating and ranks among the nation’s top receivers, chose Clemson over a Top 6 that included Florida, Florida State, Notre Dame, Texas, and Wisconsin.

The speedy and shifty playmaker was one of the standout performers at the Under Armour Next All-America game earlier this winter and had been a priority target for Clemson wide receivers coach Tyler Grisham. Burroughs confirmed to ClemsonSportsTalk.com that the Tigers’ consistency in their message played a significant role in his decision.

"That I am a big priority to them and that they will continue to show that to me for as long as they can!" Burroughs said.

That message resonated with the talented wideout, who also pointed to Clemson’s stability under head coach Dabo Swinney and the Tigers’ history of developing top-tier receivers.

"I like that they are a program of tradition, and it shows,” said Burroughs, who has a personal best of 10.64 seconds in the 100-meter dash. “Coach Swinney has been the head coach there for 22-23 years, and he’s been doing great things. Coach Grisham is a great coach who constantly keeps contact with me and my family!"

Clemson’s track record of getting young receivers involved early also caught Burroughs' attention. The Tigers relied heavily on their freshman wideouts last season, with Tyler Brown, Bryant Wesco, and others making immediate impacts.

"Their impact was crazy, and I feel as if the coaches did a phenomenal job using them in the offense,” Burroughs said. “And it shows that they aren’t scared to put you out there and that they develop [players].”

Burroughs’ commitment is a big moment for Clemson quarterback commit Brock Bradley‍, who had been actively recruiting him to join the class. The two have stayed in touch, building a connection during the recruiting process.

Burroughs plans to return to Tiger Town soon, locking in his official visit for May 30-June 2. With his speed, agility, and playmaking ability, Clemson just landed another dangerous weapon for its offense—one who could make an early impact when he arrives in Death Valley.
