Clemson’s 2026 recruiting class just got bigger — literally and figuratively — as four-star offensive lineman Leo Delaney‍ announced his commitment to the Tigers, giving them a cornerstone up front and another elite talent from Charlotte’s Providence Day School.

The 6-foot-6, 295-pound Delaney picked Clemson over Penn State and Michigan, two of the nation’s top offensive line-producing programs. He had also been considering Tennessee before dropping the Volunteers from contention recently. Delaney had originally circled July 11 as his announcement date, but after a strong visit to Clemson over the weekend, he decided there was no reason to wait.

Delaney is the 16th commitment in Clemson’s 2026 class and the second from Providence Day, joining wide receiver Gordon Sellars‍, another national top-200 prospect. Their chemistry and shared high school experience could give the Tigers a built-in connection on the offensive side of the ball for years to come.

Clemson’s patient approach to recruiting has long stood out to Delaney. When asked last year about the Tigers’ policy of waiting until after a prospect's junior season to extend offers, Delaney didn’t see it as hesitation — he saw it as intention.

“I think that means they really take their time in their offers, really evaluating the kid and making sure they’re a good fit for the program while building a relationship with them,” Delaney said.

One of those relationships — with offensive line coach Matt Luke — ultimately proved to be a deciding factor. Luke’s track record of developing NFL-caliber linemen and his emphasis on fundamentals and fit resonated deeply with Delaney and his family throughout the process.

With Delaney now on board, Clemson adds both size and pedigree to its offensive line pipeline. And for a program continuing to lean into physicality and trench dominance, his commitment sends another strong message: The Tigers are back to building the right way, from the inside out.
