Clemson basketball extended a scholarship offer to rising senior Harris Reynolds‍, a 6-foot-5, 175-pound combo guard out of St. Pius X Catholic High School in Atlanta, GA. The offer came on July 7, just days after Reynolds delivered a statement performance at the Georgia Basketball Coaches Association (GBCA) Southeast Regional at LakePoint Sports in Emerson, GA (June 27-29).

Reynolds has been on Clemson’s radar for quite some time, maintaining steady communication with Tigers Recruiting Coordinator Lucas McKay and assistant coach Sean Dixon since his sophomore season. That relationship took another step forward earlier this year when Reynolds visited Littlejohn Coliseum on January 4 and watched the Tigers knock off California 80–68.

“I’m very excited about the offer and I loved the atmosphere at the game,” Reynolds told ClemsonSportsTalk.com this week.

The offer was likely fueled by Reynolds' showing at the GBCA. With many coaches in attendance, including members of the Clemson staff, Reynolds averaged over 25 points per game across three contests. His performance earned him seven of his 18 total Division I offers — including Clemson, St. Louis, Tulane, USF, and Virginia Tech — adding to a list that already featured California and West Virginia.

Still, Reynolds remains unrated by national recruiting services.

“I really don’t know [why I’m not rated],” said Reynolds, a 2023-24 6A All-State first team member. “But rankings don’t matter when it comes to the next level.”

If his recent performance is any indication, Reynolds is letting his play do the talking. On Thursday, he posted 22 points and 13 rebounds for Team Nightrydas in a 78–66 victory over Team City Rockers in Nike EYBL action in North Augusta, SC, continuing a strong summer run in front of national evaluators.

Former Kennesaw State Director of Basketball Operations Dan McDonald was among those impressed. McDonald tweeted:

With high praise from McDonald and others, along with his strong showing this summer, Reynolds is expected to see more offers come his way. While a commitment doesn’t appear imminent, he has a clear vision for what he wants at the next level.

“Something that's really important is I want to come and make an immediate impact as a freshman — get an opportunity to play,” he said. “I don't want to come in and be at the end of the bench.”

As for Clemson, Reynolds said he plans to stay in contact with McKay and Dixon and hopes to make a return visit this fall, this time to Death Valley, for a home football game.
