Clemson’s depth chart looks stronger heading into Saturday’s matchup, as three key Tigers appear on track to return. Wide receiver Antonio Williams, safety Khalil Barnes, and left tackle Tristan Leigh—all of whom were banged up in the season opener against LSU—are officially listed as probable this week.
Last weekend, every player listed as probable on the ACC official release went on to be considered available by Saturday’s final releases so that would be indicate this is very good news.
Additionally, ClemsonSportsTalk.com has confirmed that the trio has been practicing and trending upward, according to a source, which is a major boost for the Tigers.
Williams, Clemson’s top returning receiver, hauled in 75 catches for 904 yards and 11 touchdowns in 2024. His explosiveness in the passing game and special teams—he also averaged 9.6 yards per punt return last season—adds a dynamic spark after being limited since the first drive of the season.
Barnes, who started every game in 2024, was a versatile defensive playmaker with 61 tackles and four interceptions. His ability to cover space in the secondary was evident in the opener before the hamstring tweak forced him out in the preseason. He tried to give it a go against LSU, but aggravated the injury and has been sidelined ever since.
On the line, Leigh provides valuable experience at left tackle. His return should help solidify an offensive unit that has stumbled out of the gates. In addition to Leigh, lineman Elyjah Thurmon is also on the positive side of the list.
Getting all three back not only restores balance on both sides of the ball but also provides leadership. With the Tigers hosting Syracuse in Death Valley on Saturday, this group’s return could not come at a better time.
