Clemson women’s basketball just landed one of the biggest commitments in program history.

Trinity Jones, a 6-foot-1 guard from Bolingbrook High School (IL), announced Monday her pledge to Clemson over LSU, TCU, Tennessee, and UCLA. The Naperville, Illinois native is a unanimous top-10 recruit in the 2026 class and is ranked as the No. 2 shooting guard in the nation.

Jones transferred from Naperville Central to Bolingbrook just before her sophomore season but missed all of last year due to an ACL injury.

Clemson head coach Shawn Poppie’s ability to secure Jones’ commitment is a major recruiting win for the Tigers, particularly considering the history tied to Naperville Central, the alma mater of Candace Parker, who went on to star at Tennessee and in the WNBA.

Jones is currently ranked No. 12 on ESPN’s Top 25 girls’ basketball recruiting players regardless of class, a testament to her elite status among high school prospects.

Here’s what ESPN contributor Shane Laflin said about the 6’1 dunker:

“A highly talented big guard with the vertical leap to elevate on jumpers and finish at the rim, Jones’ elite skills rival anyone in the country. She missed the high school season with a knee injury but returned as intense and fierce as ever in the spring, particularly defensively. There’s no limit on her potential.”

Jones also has international experience on her résumé. As a member of the 2023 USA Basketball Women’s U16 Gold Medal Winning National Team, she averaged 9.5 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks per game.

Her commitment is expected to boost Clemson’s 2026 recruiting class, which already ranks No. 5 nationally according to 247Sports. Jones joins a loaded group that includes 6’2 power forward Julia Scott (No. 39), 6’0 forward Kimora Fields (No. 45), 5’9 guard Meeyah Green (No. 59), and 6’5 center Dyarri Braddick.

With Jones now on board, Poppie’s Tigers are building one of the most talented and athletic young cores in the ACC — and perhaps setting the stage for Clemson to become a national contender in the coming years.
