ATLANTA – Clemson University men’s basketball outlasted Georgia Tech 77-63 on Saturday afternoon at McCamish Pavilion. It was Clemson’s 12th consecutive ACC road victory – tied for the fourth-longest streak in ACC history.

The Tigers (17-4, 7-1 ACC) were led by Nick Davidson (Mission Viejo, Calif./Mater Dei) and Jake Wahlin (Provo, Utah/Timpview/Utah), who each scored a team-leading 13 points and combined for 14 of the team’s 37 total rebounds. Wahlin grabbed eight.

Heading into halftime, Hunter sank a buzzer-beating three-pointer to boost the Tigers to a 35-33 lead and provide momentum going into the break. There were six ties and 11 lead changes in the opening stanza.

Early in the second half, Clemson used a 19-7 run to expand its lead to 14 points. Despite a tough shooting first half, the Tigers dominated in the second period shooting 51.9 percent from the floor (14-27), including 7-for-12 from three (58.3 percent).

Ace Buckner (Dallas, Texas/La Lumiere School (Ind.) continued his impressive freshman campaign with 12 points to record his seventh double-digit performance of the season.

With 6:34 left to play, Clemson took its biggest lead of the game and expanded it to 16 points before coasting to its ninth victory by a margin of 10 or more points. Clemson totaled 14 assists on 28 made shots and committed just five turnovers.
