Clemson Continues Recruiting Surge with Commitment from TE Carter Blackwell
Make it back-to-back Carters for Clemson.
Just one day after landing 2027 offensive tackle Carter Jones, Clemson stayed hot on the recruiting trail with another major addition as three-star tight end Carter Blackwell announced his commitment to the Tigers.
The standout from Lee County High School in Leesburg, Georgia becomes Clemson’s 12th overall commitment in the 2027 recruiting cycle and gives the Tigers one of the fastest-rising tight ends in the class.
Blackwell’s recruitment gained significant momentum throughout the spring, but Clemson’s culture and long-term vision ultimately helped separate the Tigers from the pack.
Tight ends coach Kyle Richardson played a major role in the process, consistently emphasizing the developmental approach and values-driven foundation built by head coach Dabo Swinney.
Blackwell made his decision public on social media shortly after informing the Clemson staff.

The commitment continues a massive recruiting surge for Clemson over the last week. Along with Blackwell, the Tigers have landed:

- 4⭐ RB Gary Walker over Penn State, Florida, and Florida State
- 4⭐ WR Jamarin Simmons over Auburn, Tennessee, Florida, and Florida State
- 4⭐ OL Carter Jones over Georgia, Penn State, and Tennessee
With Blackwell now in the fold, Clemson continues building impressive momentum early in the 2027 cycle, adding another versatile offensive weapon to pair with an already strong foundation of future talent.
