Ashton Hampton may be Clemson's most experienced returning cornerback, and many outside the program have already penciled him in as the Tigers' top cover man entering 2026.

Don't count Mike Reed among them.

During his media availability, Clemson's veteran cornerbacks coach was asked multiple times about Hampton, a projected top-10 cornerback prospect in the 2027 NFL Draft, stepping into the role of the team's No. 1 corner.
