DeAndre Hopkins on ESPN's 'The Six'

Former Clemson reciever DeAndre Hopkins joined SC6 last night and had some high praise for his new quarterback, another former Tiger in Deshaun Watson, calling him a "general" and saying he's shown great leadership so far in Houston. 

"What I meant by that was the way he carries himself, not only on the field, but off the field," says Hopkins in the segment, which can be seen below. "Everywhere he goes, lunch room, meeting rooms, everything he does he commands the best out of everyone on that field. He's constantly talking about things we can do better and things he can do better for himself as well."

Hopkins defended quarterback Tom Savage as the starter earlier this year, and he touched on that as well. 

"I'm a leader in this offense, so I ahve to police everybody. Tom Savage was going with the ones at the time, so me being a leader, I have to push whoever's there throwing me the ball. Of course Deshaun was doing amazing things, no doubt in my mind Deshaun was going to start or could start for this offense. But at the time, Tom was throwing with the ones. It's me being me, my characteristics to be a leader, to push everybody."

Hopkins was also asked to rank all the Clemson recievers in the NFL, and there's no shock who he put at number one.

"I'm going to say myself, Sammy (Watkins), I'm going to go with Jaron Brown. He's starting right now, I know yall saw the drive he had to help them win the game, for the Cardinals. Martavis Bryant at four. Adam Humphries, Tampa Bay at five. I'm going to go with Charone Peake with the Jets. I haven't seen much of Mike (Williams), but I'm sure once he gets out there he'll be up there in that top five for sure."

For the season, Hopkins has 31 catches for 311 yards and 2 touchdowns in four games. He's become a favorite target of Watson, who's taken the NFL by storm in just three starts, throwing 74-114 for 811 yards with 8 touchdowns and 4 interceptions. He's also run 19 times for 148 yards and two more scores.
