What's the 'Deal' in 'Pickens' County? Tigers miss on two high-value in-state prospects

Clemson missed on 5-star defensive end Zacch Pickens and 3-star tight end Luke Deal yesterday, but this isn't the first time the Tigers have missed in-state recently.

Nights like Friday have been few and far between for Clemson's football staff.  While Dabo Swinney has been building Clemson into a national power, it's been rare to see the Tigers miss on players like 5-star Zacch Pickens‍ and 3-star Luke Deal‍. 

Given Clemson's success on the field, missing on both in-state prospects would seem to be a severe blow to the Tigers.
