Seth Beer selected 28th overall in the MLB Draft

Former National Player of the Year Seth Beer was selected 28th overall in the first round by the Houston Astros Monday.

Beer, a three-time All-American at Clemson led the ACC with 22 home runs this past season while batting .301 for the Tigers. Beer also led the ACC in slugging percentage this season notching a .642 mark. His 56 career home runs ranks 4th best all-time at Clemson.

Beer has a year of college eligibility left if he chooses to stay in school and is the first Tiger drafted in the first round since 2012.
