Tigers near the top of ESPN power rankings
ESPN released their college football power rankings earlier this week, and the top four teams were far from surprising.
Much like the Preseason Coaches Poll, Clemson checked in at No. 2, following only Alabama. The Tigers and the Crimson Tide have faced off each of the last three seasons in the College Football Playoff.
Clemson kicked off fall camp yesterday in preparation for another run to the playoff.
Here's what ESPN writer Andrea Adelson said about the Tigers:
Ever since Christian Wilkins, Austin Bryant and Clelin Ferrell announced they would come to Clemson for their senior seasons, the Tigers have been a favorite to play for yet another national championship. And with good reason. The three defensive linemen team with junior tackle Dexter Lawrence to form the best defensive line in the country, a veteran unit that has embraced the high expectations and leadership on what is now a veteran team.

She continued to talk about the quarterback situation:
While there is some uncertainty at quarterback, there is no doubt this position is in much better shape with Kelly Bryant back and ESPN 300 talent Trevor Lawrence onboard. Expect both to play.
A few ACC foes checked in on the list as well; Miami checked in at No. 9, Virginia Tech at No. 15, and Florida State at No. 18 after hiring former Oregon head coach Willie Taggart. Palmetto Bowl rival South Carolina checked in at the bottom, at No. 25.
