The Tigers and Bulldogs will face off on the gridiron for the 65th time in 2024, but it won't take place in Tiger Town or the Classic City. Instead, the two programs will hook up in Atlanta on Aug. 31, 2024 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

According to our sister site DawgPost.com Georgia athletic director, Greg McGarity, confirmed Friday morning saying a contract has been signed.

“To play a great opponent like the University of Georgia in a first-class venue like Mercedes-Benz Stadium will be an outstanding experience for our football team and fans,” Director of Athletics Dan Radakovich said. “The resumption of our storied rivalry with Georgia has been a high priority for us and will continue to be a high priority moving forward.”

The two schools last hooked up in 2014 in Athens, a 45-21 Georgia win. Back in 2013, Clemson kicked off the season with a 38-35 victory in Clemson.

“I’ve said many times that I think the Clemson-Georgia rivalry is one of the best rivalries in college football,” Head Coach Dabo Swinney said. “It’s one I watched way before I even came to Clemson. I think it’s great for both fan bases. It will be one of those games that everybody will enjoy. Obviously it’s a tough opener for both teams, but it’s fun to be a part of games like that.”

Last season, the two teams could have hooked up in Atlanta in the College Football Playoff, but the Tigers fell to Alabama in the Sugar Bowl. Given the stature of both programs, it is reasonable to assume that they could still meet before the 2024 matchup.

Georgia leads the all-time series 42-18-4.
