In the second release of the College Football Playoff rankings, there was no change at the top.

The Georgia Bulldogs and Alabama Crimson Tide remained the top two teams in college football.

Georgia knocked off South Carolina 24-10, while Alabama equaled the "Dawgs" with a 24-10 win of their own over LSU.

Notre Dame held on to the third spot after surviving Wake Forest in a high scoring affair, 48-37.

Clemson remained #4 after moving to 8-1 including a 6-1 mark in the Atlantic Coast Conference. The Tigers boast wins over seven teams with winning records, the most in the nation.

Those seven teams, six (Auburn, Virginia Tech, Boston College, Wake Forest, Georgia Tech, and NC State) are all ranked in the top 40 of the latest computer rankings.

After the rankings were released, Kirk Herbstreit stated, "The best team, if everybody is healthy, is Clemson."

Clemson currently holds victories over #10 Auburn, #17 Virginia Tech, and #23 NC State.

Herbstreit went on to say, "If Kelly Bryant's ankle is healthy, and it appears that it is. I know their defense has given up some points here lately, it's just my opinion, when the dust settles I think Clemson is going to potentially end up being the best team again this year, in the entire country."

Following Herbstreit's comments, Rece Davis stated, "I think they're (Clemson) the most complete team. Their missing piece is not as glaring."

Clemson’s 8-1 record includes a national-best 6-0 mark against FBS teams with a winning record and a 4-0 mark against teams ranked in the top 20 of the AP poll. Three of Clemson’s wins have come on the road against top 20 teams, the only team in the nation that can make that claim. It is the first time Clemson has had three top 20 wins on the road since 1950.

Clemson has been in the top four of the CFB Playoff rankings14 consecutive times, which is second only to Alabama who's been there 17 straight times.

Alabama, Clemson, and Ohio State are the only teams that have appeared in all 21 sets of the CFB Playoff rankings.

Tiger fans should be rooting for Auburn this weekend. It's a two-for-one if they win. Knocks UGA off and your resume gets a boost.
