Clemson one of the Last Five teams in the NCAA Tournament, according to final projection
Clemson baseball has found itself on the bubble for the NCAA Tournament and will be on the edge of its seat at Doug Kingsmore Stadium on Monday afternoon.
With the selection show beginning in under an hour, we looked at D1 Baseball’s latest and final projection for the NCAA Tournament field. The Tigers are one of the Last Five In, according to the site.
Clemson is one of three ACC teams on the list as the “Last Five In.” Florida State, Duke, BYU, and Florida are the other schools that sit in the same position as the Tigers.
The final projection has Clemson travelling to Lubbock, Tx. to take on the Texas Tech Red Raiders, which would be the No. 7 national seed. The Tigers are a No. 3 seed in the regional and would play two-seeded Dallas Baptist first. Harvard is the No. 4 seed in the regional.
Clemson finished the season with a 34-24 record, and were 16-16 in ACC play. The Tigers are No. 38 in the RPI and are 8-7 against teams in the top 25. The Tigers have not played in a Regional on the road since 2015, when the Tigers travelled to Cal State Fullerton.
Clemson has not made it out of a Regional since 2010.
The selection show is at noon on Monday, and we’ll have more from Monte Lee and his reaction to where the Tigers will be heading.
