It's official: Tavien Feaster is a Gamecock
Per multiple reports, former Clemson running back Tavien Feaster will transfer to South Carolina and join Will Muschamp’s Gamecocks as a graduate transfer for the 2019 season. Feaster finishes his Clemson career with 1,330 rushing yards and 15 touchdowns.
Feaster will compete with returning running backs A.J. Turner, Rico Dowdle and Mon Denson for playing time.
Feaster’s arrival at Clemson was met with great fanfare as the former Spartanburg High star picked the Tigers over Tennessee and Auburn. A five-star commit, Feaster was given C.J. Spiller’s retired No. 28 jersey so that he could continue to wear his high school number.
When the news came out that Feaster entered the transfer portal, Dabo Swinney said, “We appreciate Tavien for everything he brought to Clemson University and our program, and we wish him nothing but the best moving forward.”
Feaster is finishing up his remaining summer coursework at Clemson in order to be cleared academically to graduate next week. He will receive his bachelor’s degree in Parks, Recreation and Tourism Management.
As for Clemson, Lyn-J Dixon will most likely benefit the most picking up additional carries behind starter Travis Etienne.
