Folks, we did it! After weeks of struggling like Clemson’s offense supposedly did at the beginning of the season, we turned it on last week for the first 6-0 Lowell’s Locks of the season! I now sit one game away from .500. We get over the hump this week. In the immortal words of Deshaun Watson, let’s go be great in week twelve.

Saturday, November 15th

#5 Alabama (-18.5) at Mississippi State:

This one feels almost too easy. Despite Tua Tagovailoa being a game time decision, Alabama comes out fired up and crushes a Bulldogs team that couldn’t beat Tennessee. Alabama knows they need to look impressive for the committee from here on out, and they start in Starkville.

Lowell’s Lock: Alabama covers -18.5

Michigan State at #15 Michigan (-13.5):

It won’t always be pretty, and it might not even look particularly impressive. But Michigan has found some offensive footing over the past few weeks and they’ll be able to easily shut down one of the worst offenses in FBS at home. That will give them enough offensive opportunities to cover.

Lowell’s Lock: Michigan covers -13.5

#23 Navy at #16 Notre Dame (-7):

Our first ranked vs. ranked matchup of these picks, and it should be a fun one. Navy features a top 10 scoring offense and scoring defense, and for the most part has obliterated everyone it has faced this season. Notre Dame, on the heels of a late-game victory against Virginia Tech, took out some frustrations with a walloping of Duke last week. The big worry for the Irish? They give up just over 155 yards per game on the ground, and now face the #1 rushing offense in the country. Things are going to get interesting.

Lowell’s Lock: Navy covers +7

#4 Georgia (-3) at #12 Auburn (-6):

The second-ranked on ranked matchup on this list, and boy is it going to be a doozy. Georgia’s offense, which has had its struggles this season, travels to Jordan-Hare Stadium to face one of the best defensive fronts in the nation. Auburn holds the keys to the college football season, as it hosts both Georgia and Alabama to close out the season and can ruin a lot of hopes for a lot of fans. Does the offense have enough against an athletic Georgia defense? It’ll be a slugfest, but the home crowd gives the Tigers a pretty big advantage... look out, Bulldogs.

Lowell’s Lock: Auburn covers +3

South Carolina at Texas A&M (-11):

After losing to App State, South Carolina now finds itself in a position where it must beat both Texas A&M and Clemson to make a bowl game. Rumors have been swirling about the status of head coach Will Muschamp’s job, and if you want to find out how a team really feels about its coach, tune into this one. Will they pack it in and take a beating in College Station, or will they come out with some fire and compete? The guess here is the Gamecocks probably show some fire, but in the end, playing beat up and on the road is too much for them.

Lowell’s Lock: Texas A&M covers -11

Wake Forest at #3 Clemson (-34.5):

I wasn’t going to do it this week. I wasn’t going to pick Clemson to cover. But then Wake went and got blown out by Virginia Tech, and in the process lost one of the best WR’s in the ACC to injury. Without a deep threat, I don’t see how Wake can hold up against a red hot Clemson offense who had 42 points by the half against NC State. Clemson blows out another one and continues to make statements to the committee.

Lowell’s Lock: Clemson covers -34.5
