Baton Rouge, La. – Rebekah Smith was the lone Tiger representing the Clemson Track & Field program on Friday, as the senior from Irmo, S.C. ran a personal best time of 7.23 in the final of the 60 meter dash at the LSU Twilight. Smith advanced to the final after running 7.28 in the preliminary round.

Entering the weekend, Smith’s 7.23 would have ranked her second in the ACC and 11th in the country for the event. Entering the day, Smith’s season-best time was 7.27 and her personal best was 7.26.

Looking ahead at the rest of the weekend’s activity, Clemson will be represented by 14 athletes across six different events at tomorrow’s USC Indoor Open. Jessica Brewer, Elise Hall and Alex Svacha will start the day for the Tigers as all three will take to the runway for the women’s pole vault. The largest contingent of Tigers competing on Saturday will take place in the women’s mile, as five Clemson athletes will toe the line for the event.
