Swinney not convinced Buckeyes belong in College Football Playoff

Dabo Swinney isn’t convinced that Ohio State deserves a playoff spot.

In a Thursday interview with Rich Eisen on the Rich Eisen show, Swinney was asked of his opinion about the Buckeyes’ resume.

“If I was on the committee, it would be hard for me to leave out a 10-1 Texas A&M or an 11-game Florida.” Swinney said. “Over a team that’s played six games? That would be hard for me.”

The Ohio State Buckeyes — Clemson’s Fiesta Bowl foe in the 2019 College Football Playoff — have only managed to play five games on the season, with the sixth expected to take place in next week’s Big Ten Championship. The Buckeyes will square off against 14th-ranked Northwestern with a likely trip to the playoff on the line.
