The Storylines

Clemson’s seniors are looking to finish a perfect 26-0 at home for their careers, but will have to do it against a red hot Wake Forest team. The Demon Deacons can secure their spot in the ACC Championship with a win over the Tigers today. Should Clemson defeat the Demon Deacons, their ACC title hopes are not out of reach. The Tigers will need Wake Forest to lose next week and NC State to drop one of their last two games against Syracuse and North Carolina.

Spend this afternoon’s game with us in this thread! Brandon Stockdale will be holding down the fort along with the rest of the CST Staff.

Quinton Cooley muscles his way into the end zone from 7 yards out as the offensive line neutralizes the defensive front. That is Cooley's first touchdown of his career and it comes at a critical time. The 2-point conversion is no good and the Tigers lead 38-19 with 14:55 to play in the game.

Blake Whiteheart connects with Sam Hartman on a 6-yard scoring strike and they get the 2-point conversion on a run play. Clemson leads Wake 41-27 with 4:50 to play in the game. You can certainly expect an onside kick here.

Will Shipley scores his second touchdown of the afternoon to put the game away for the Tigers from 3 yards out, extending the lead to 48-27 with 2:15 to play in the game.

The Tiger rushing game is the story of the day with 333 rushing yards as Shipley and Pace took over. Clemson found a rhythm offensively today and the defense took it to the Deacs with 3 turnovers in what was the best win of the season for Clemson.

NEXT UP: A trip to Columbia to face South Carolina next Saturday night. Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m. and the game will be televised by the SEC Network.

The path for Clemson to get back to Charlotte is possible, but they'll need some help.

Clemson needs:
  • Wake Forest to lose again next week against Boston College
  • AND....
  • NC State to lose one of their two remaining games against UNC next Friday or Syracuse later today.
