DIVISION OVER DIVISIONS: The ACC announced that it is heavily considering eliminating divisions in football, possibly as soon as 2023, per college football writer Pete Thamel.

Per Thamel, one of the models being discussed is a 3-5-5 which gives each team three permanent opponents per year, with the other five rotating on and off schedule every season. This would mean that you would play every team in the ACC every two seasons.

Another thought is having just two permanent opponents with six rotating on and off or a 2-6-6 Model.

That begs the question: Who would you want Clemson’s permanent opponents to be?

In my opinion, if the league decides on a 3-5-5 situation, the three teams have to be NC State, Georgia Tech and Florida State given the history between the Tigers and those schools.

The other aspect you get with this is that the top two teams record-wise would make the ACC Championship. It wouldn’t have helped the Tigers last season, but there are many years it would have.

LOUD ‘BREY’ING: There are a lot of coaches sounding off against the transfer portal and NIL right now. One coach who has gone the opposite direction is Notre Dame head basketball coach Mike Brey. Yesterday, Brey had a lot to say about the concerns many have shared about the recent changes we've seen in college sports.

"We got to stop complaining," Brey told reporters at the ACC Spring Meetings in Amelia Island, Georgia. "This is the world we're in. Last time I checked, we make pretty good money. So everybody should shut up and adjust."
Among those trying to adjust are the NCAA, which released guidelines Monday in regards to NIL that target the "collectives" formed by boosters to woo players with high-dollar offers in what is widely viewed as a "pay for play" scheme outside the boundaries of NIL. However, Brey was also candid when asked whether he believes those guidelines will be enforced.
"They're talking a big game but they always have talked a big game about that," Brey said.

Even Clemson’s Tim Bourret chimed in on his Alma Mater’s head coach’s comments:

Look, I am in full support of NIL and the one-time transfer, however, the NCAA pushed this through with no guidelines and there’s obviously some chaos going on. However, Brey has a point. If this is the world we are now in, you better stop complaining and find a way to adjust to it. Otherwise, you’re going to get left in the dust.

THE GOAT GETS A MIC. Everyone knows how close Tom Brady was to retirement after last season. However, when Brady does finally give in to father time, it appears he has his plan all squared away. And it doesn’t appear to involve kicking back and playing 18 holes. Brady apparently has a deal lined up with Fox Sports that will be the most lucrative in sports broadcasting history to be its lead analyst.

Tom Brady will join Fox Sports as its lead NFL analyst when his playing career ends.
Fox did not disclose terms of Brady's deal, but the New York Post reported that the seven-time Super Bowl-winning quarterback has agreed to a 10-year, $375 million contract -- the most lucrative in sports broadcasting history.
Fox CEO Lachlan Murdoch announced the news Tuesday during a corporate investor call. Brady will call games alongside lead play-by-play announcer Kevin Burkhardt and will work as an "ambassador" for Fox with a focus on "client and promotional initiatives."

Brady has always been a man with a plan, and it appears this may be his greatest plan yet.

SONG OF THE DAY. It’s not actually the weekend, but it is for me considering my new official work schedule. Big shoutout to me for getting the next few days off.

OFF THE PATH. Dabo Swinney has been known for popping up at random professional sites across the country. This time he made a short trip over to Atlanta to take in the Braves and Milwaukee Brewers. He had this to say about the park.

"This is amazing. This is my first time. My boys have been here, but I've never been to this park."

Swinney found himself being booed by some of the fans in Atlanta, no doubt some Bulldog fans. You’d think they would be more hospitable to him considering he was sporting Braves gear!

See y’all tomorrow!
