St. Francis (GA) defensive back Branden Strozier commits to Clemson
Clemson picked up a fourth verbal commit for the 2023 football recruiting class on Friday.
Branden Strozier (St. Francis High, Alpharetta, GA) announced via Twitter his pledge to the Tigers. The Peach State defensive back wrote, "Committed."
Strozier (6'2, 175) is a versatile defender with snaps at corner and safety. He also contributes on offense at receiver and as a returner on special teams.
His versatility was on display in a late October matchup against Cherokee Christian.
Strozier had touchdowns on a reception, a pick-six, and a kickoff return to help lead St. Francis to a 42-10 victory and was named a top performer for Week 8 by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
At the conclusion of the 2021 season, he was also selected as the 6A Private Defensive Player of the Year.
Before Friday's pledge, Strozier was offered on March 13 and took unofficial campus visits on March 12 and April 9. He is expected to return for an official visit on June 3.
Strozier chose Clemson over offers from Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Tennessee, and 11 others.
