Clemson freshman Adam Randall made his much anticipated collegiate debut two weeks ago against La. Tech in Death Valley. Randall, a Myrtle Beach native, has just one reception this season for 11 yards but continues to look the part in the Tigers’ downfield passing game.

Check out a few notes from last week as we had to chance to hear from the 6’2, 230-pound freshman.

On being back out on the field:

“Ever since I was a little kid, it was a dream come true, running down the hill and playing for Clemson.  Ever since I got hurt, I never really knew a timeline for when I was going to be back, I feel like I attacked rehab and got back faster than later.  I'm ready to be back out there, being able to play under the lights, in front of the fans.  It was a really exciting night for me, and I couldn’t ask for anything better.”

On if his return was everything he thought it would be:

“It was everything that I dreamed up. Once I was out there for the first couple of plays, it was a little different than high school and other football I've played. But once you really get into the flow of the game, you block out the distractions-- and it becomes football again.”

On his thoughts when his knee injury occurred:

“It was something that you can't plan for, and it was unexpected.  I really didn't think it was an ACL at the time.  When it happened, and I got the news, it was devastating. It was tough in the moment.  But Coach Swinney reassured me that we have the best training staff and equipment, and this was the best place for me.”

On being back to the level he wants to be:

“Getting back into football, the week before, it felt like I was moving a lot better, and I was comfortable with myself.”

On influence and motivation from other players:

“It was definitely very motivating, just having a good group of guys around here at Clemson, in the facility, and the locker room.  They really kept my spirits up.  Some of the guys that you wouldn't know or hear about, they bring the largest piece of pie.  They just keep you encouraged every day. I just love being here and love having my teammates around me. They really keep me encouraged.”
