The No.5 Tigers survived a tremendous effort from No.14 Syracuse as they hung on for a 27-21 victory. Clemson RB Will Shipley led the offense as he racked up 172 yards on the ground and 2 big scores. Clemson QB DJ Uiagalelei struggled (138 YDS, 2 INT) and freshman Cade Klubnik would provide a spark for the offense (34 TOT YDS).

The Tiger defense registered 5.0 sacks, 9.0 tackles for loss and forced a turnover. 'Cuse QB Garrett Shrader finished with 238 total yards and 2 TDR. Orange RB Sean rushed for 54 yards and had a TD receiving, and Orande Gadsden II hauled in 6 receptions for 86 yards.
