On the off week:
”We went over the plays that in the game didn’t work as much as we thought they would. Had a good week of practice, didn’t do too much, but it was definitely a productive week.”
On how he keeps his focus:
”Keeping the main thing the main thing, and that’s winning. If I have to have a full game of blocking-- that’s what I’ll do. There hasn’t been much time where I’ve been pissed off or anything like that. I’ve just handled it like a pro would. I come back to work the next week, hoping I get a catch that week. I wasn’t really worried about that.”
On how he’s improved:
”I would say we spent a lot of time in release techniques. Last year we didn’t spend as much time, and it showed in our play. This year it has taken off. We’ve been allowed to get open more. Working at it every day in practice. Coach Grisham has different drills for us every day, so it’s really helped.”
On Antonio Williams:
”He was born with a lot of abilities that I personally have not seen before. It’s amazing to see him go out there and have fun. He’s a real laid-back guy, he doesn’t say much, but on the field, he’s a dog. He catches everything in practice and in games. He also picked up on our playbook pretty good. He’s not one to ask a lot of questions. He's a special case.”
On Notre Dame:
”They play a lot of off-man. The boundary corner, No. 20, he’ll come up and press more than No. 5 will. Not too much press-man from the field. They’re a pretty physical defense as well. They’re very experienced-- all of the secondary but No. 20-- they’re above juniors. They’re pretty physical and experienced. We have to strap up for this game.”
