Streeter on winning vs. SC: 'You get to have bragging rights for an entire year'

On playing in this rivalry:

“It's an amazing experience.  It's amazing in many ways.  You talk about it all year long, and you get to have bragging rights for an entire year. It's always a competitive game-- it's always emotional-- it’s personal, all of the above.  You try to contain your emotions as much as you can, but it's going to be emotional because of how electric the game is and how it's built up. It's two very good programs that get to go to battle every year.

On what tape he shows the offense on South Carolina:

“Our players watch all year long, too, especially when you talk about a rival game and a team that you're playing. There is no question of what South Carolina is capable of doing, and they're coming in here with a ton of confidence, as they should. Our guys know and see that, and it's gonna make us prepare more and more to be ready for it.  As a coach, we look at all the different games they've played, all the schemes they've used.  And try to match them the best we can while having fun with it.”

On deciding when to allow D.J. to run the ball:

“He's got to be ready the whole game. We're going to have plenty for him in the passing and run game, as we do every week.  Any time you can get that hat in the run game and influence people in that way, it's to our advantage. D.J. is very confident in running the football right now.  Some of the play schemes that we have available for him are how we are going to use him.  We're going to use it all game long.  He ran a lot last week, but that's part of it as you try to manufacture some yards in the run game.  Kind of like I said most of the year, what's unique about our offensive group is being able to manufacture yards, points, or production in different ways.”

On similarities between D.J. and Spencer Rattler:

“I haven't followed Spencer Rattler that much. I know this year, as people say, he hasn't been that consistent until this past game.  But he's a heck of a player.  He showed you what he can do.  It has a lot to do with the confidence of the quarterback.  Just as important is the supporting cast around him and how you deal with it, how you still have to be the role of a leader. I know Spencer enough to know he's a leader. There's definitely some, as far as expectations coming in,  having those high expectations coming into a program being expected to save everything, and that's not easy.”

On what stands out on the SC defensive line:

“They have some guys up front that are very talented.  All four of them have shown a lot of spark and talent.  We recruited most, if not all, of those guys here at Clemson. Their defensive line is a part of their team that is very talented and makes some plays.”
