The Tigers have been hit by the transfer portal once again as linebacker LaVonta Bentley‍ has entered the transfer portal.

Hard-hitting linebacker who enters 2022 credited with 52 tackles (8.5 for loss), 4.5 sacks, two pass breakups and two forced fumbles in 254 defensive snaps across 27 career games (two starts).

2022: Made four tackles and advanced a blocked punt seven yards at Georgia Tech … recorded three tackles for loss with a sack among his seven tackles vs. Furman … added a tackle vs. Louisiana Tech … credited with two tackles vs. No. 10 NC State … contributed a tackle at Boston College … made four tackles at Florida State … added two tackles at Notre Dame.

2021: Credited with 30 tackles (4.0 for loss), two pass breakups, a sack and a forced fumble over 171 defensive snaps in 11 games (two starts) … recorded a tackle and a forced fumble vs. No. 5 Georgia … made one tackle vs. SC State … made his first career start vs. Georgia Tech after starter Baylon Spector reported knee inflammation pregame, and proceeded to record a team-high 13 tackles (3.0 for loss) and a sack en route to ACC Linebacker of the Week and team co-defensive player of the game honors … followed with nine tackles in reserve at NC State … added a tackle for loss at Syracuse … contributed five tackles in season finale vs. Iowa State.
