Clemson Softball Coach John Rittman Excited to Host Regional

Clemson softball coach John Rittman is excited to host the Tigers' second regional in program history. The Tigers will face UNCG, Cal State Fullerton, and Auburn in the double-elimination tournament. Rittman is familiar with all three teams and knows that they will be tough opponents. However, he is confident in his team's ability to compete and is excited about the future of the program.

"We're really excited to host a regional," Rittman said. "It's a great opportunity for our team to play in front of our home fans. We know we have a challenging regional ahead of us, but we're confident in our ability to compete."

The Tigers played UNCG twice during the regular season, winning both games. Cal State Fullerton was upset by Long Beach State in the Big West Conference tournament, but Rittman believes the Titans are a dangerous team. Auburn is a perennial power in the SEC and features one of the best pitchers in the country in Maddie Pentas.

"We know we'll have to play our best softball to advance," Rittman said. "But we're confident in our team's ability to compete. We have a young team with a lot of potential, and I'm excited to see what they can do."

Rittman is also looking forward to what’s next for Clemson softball. The Tigers have been building a strong program over the past few years, and Rittman believes they are on the verge of something special.

"I'm really excited about the future of our program," Rittman said. "We have a lot of young talent, and I think we can continue to build on our success in the years to come."

The Tigers will open the regional against UNCG on Friday afternoon. The winner of that game will face the winner of the Cal State Fullerton-Auburn game on Saturday. The championship game will be played on Sunday.
