Four-star signee focused on making an early impact, recruiting pair of five-stars
Clemson 2023 signee Avieon Terrell is set to enroll later this summer at Clemson. Before he moves to Death Valley, we caught up with the four-star defensive back to ask about his perspective on the program and observations from his several visits to spring practice.
Terrell's thoughts on the DB group this spring: "Shelton (Lewis), he looked good. He was the youngest there, so he had a great spring. He went in very focused. Nate (Wiggins), Toriano (Pride Jr.) - everybody looked locked in. And that's what I like."
Relationship with former Westlake (Ga.) teammate Nate Wiggins: "I played with Nate my 10th-grade year, his senior year, so we have a bond. He just told me to come in focused. We're gonna make some plays."
Terrell's perspective on the new offense: "We coming. We got a new o-coordinator. Everybody thinks our offense isn't the same anymore- but we're coming this year. I feel good about the offense, especially what I saw in the spring."
His recruiting efforts in the Peach State: "I've been talking to a lot of guys in Georgia. Mike Matthews, KJ (Bolden), trying to get them boys to Clemson. I feel like that's where they want to go for real. But, I've been trying to get them there."
Terrell's pitch to top recruits he wants to join him in Clemson: "Family atmosphere. Clemson just feels like family. Everybody’s brothers, no hate there. Coaches- they're all together. They show you all the love and get on you when they need to. So it's just a family atmosphere. Great stadium, great fans, loyal fans."
Terrell's success in track this spring: "Good. I dropped my times. I told myself I wanted to go ten seconds, so I went ten. We won state in the 4x100m. We were top five in the nation. Track helped a lot. I didn't stay for no reason."
His preparation before heading to Clemson: "Just training, getting my strength better, footwork. I want to go there ready. Everything I need to do, I've been doing it."
