Clemson's promising freshman, Vic Burley, hailing from Warner Robins, Georgia, will not see action in the 2023 season due to an unfortunate injury. Burley, a former five-star recruit and the Georgia AAAAA Defensive Player of the Year, was poised to make an immediate impact at Clemson according to Dabo Swinney.
Swinney expressed his disappointment last night during his Tiger Calls radio show, saying, "The guy nobody is talking about right now is Victor Burley, and that’s because we had to do surgery on him. He’s out for the year, but this kid would have played—for sure. He’s a monster, as well. He’s a load and has a great future ahead of him.”
Burley, one of the crown jewels of Clemson's 2023 recruiting class, ranked as the team's highest-rated player by 247Sports. He was a highly anticipated addition to the Tigers' defense alongside freshmen Peter Woods and T.J. Parker and others.
